Mental Health First Aid
What is MHFA?
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an 8-hour evidence-based training program that teaches people how to recognize the signs of mental health or substance use challenges, offer initial support and connect someone to appropriate professional help. Similar to traditional first aid, which equips you to respond to physical health emergencies, MHFA prepares you to confidently and compassionately respond to mental health situations.

Why take MHFA?
-
Build confidence: Gain concrete tools to respond effectively.
-
Reduce stigma: Learn how to talk about mental health in a supportive, non-judgmental way.
Help others early: Just like CPR saves lives in medical emergencies, MHFA can make a crucial difference in preventing a crisis from worsening. -
Strengthen communities: Anyone—friends, coworkers, teachers, faith leaders, parents—can play a role in supporting mental well-being.
